   Europe adds 15 GW of wind in 2024, action urged to solve bottlenecks

   Europe is not building enough new wind farms, WindEurope warned again on Friday as it said that, based on its first estimates, the continent added around 15 GW of new wind energy in 2024, including 13 GW onshore and 2.3 GW offshore.
   
   The EU installed 13 GW of this, 11.4 GW onshore and 1.4 GW offshore. To meet its 2030 energy and climate targets, the EU needs to deploy 30 GW of new wind capacity annually.
   
   Wind power accounted for 20% of Europe's electricity consumption and 19% of the EU’s. The EU aims to increase this share to 34% by 2030 and more than 50% by 2050.

   Ørsted schrijft stevig af op Amerikaanse activiteiten

   (ABM FN-Dow Jones) Het Deense energiebedrijf Ørsted meldde maandagavond een stevige afschrijving op de Amerikaanse activiteiten.
   
   Ørsted gaat 12,1 miljard Deense kroon, ofwel ruim 1,6 miljard euro, afschrijven. Dit is volgens het concern onder meer het gevolg van de stijging van de lange rente in de VS, waardoor de kosten voor financieringen stijgen, en een vertraging bij de ingebruikname van het Sunrise Windpark. Ook deed Ørsted een afschrijving op zijn leases voor de kust van New Jersey, Maryland en Delaware.
   
   Ørsted rekent op een EBITDA in 2024 van 24,8 miljard kroon, in lijn met de laatst afgegeven outlook, aldus het concern.

   Germany approves North Sea sites for 2.5 GW of offshore wind

   Germany's Federal Maritime and Hydrographic Agency (BSH) issued on Tuesday an ordinance, defining two areas in the North Sea as suitable for the construction of offshore wind farms with a combined installed capacity of 2.5 GW.

   The 5th Ordinance for the Implementation of the Offshore Wind Energy Act (the 5th WindSeeV) confirmed the suitability of the N-10.1 and N-10.2 areas for offshore energy use.
   
   According to the BSH’s site development plan from 2023, the two locations will be auctioned by Germany’s Federal Network Agency (BNetzA) in 2025. The bidding deadline for the tender is August 1, 2025.

   AMSTERDAM - Offshore windparken leveren steeds meer groene stroom. Dat leidt inmiddels tot zoveel overschot op land, dat de industrie en huishoudens die niet allemaal kunnen afnemen. Oplossing: sla energie op in het offshore windpark zelf.
   
   De overmaat zorgt op de handelsmarkt anders tot prijzen die extreem veel bewegen en negatief uitpakken voor afnemers.

   Energiereus Eneco trekt stekker uit nieuw windpark Noordzee: ’Gevolg van desastreus kabinetsbeleid’

   Amsterdam - Opnieuw een tegenvaller voor groene stroom in Nederland. Energieproducent Eneco trekt zich terug uit de bieding voor een volgend windpark op zee. Dat is ’in de huidige vorm’ financieel niet meer rond te krijgen, aldus het bedrijf. Ook het Zweedse Ørsted stapt uit en ziet meer kansen in andere landen.
   
   De branchekoepel wijt dit aan ’desastreus kabinetsbeleid’. „Tien, vijftien jaar ging het wél goed.”
   
   In september dit jaar staat de inschrijving op de tender voor het offshore windproject op de rol voor verschillende locaties op de Noordzee: IJmuiden Ver Gamma-A, IJmuiden Ver Gamma-B, Hollandse Kust Noord en Nederwiek I-A. Die hebben elk een capaciteit van 1 gigawatt.

   Swedish county backs Skyborn's 2.8 GW offshore wind project

   The Uppsala county administrative board in Sweden has recommended that the government approve Skyborn Renewables’ project for a 2.8 GW offshore wind farm in the Baltic Sea.
   The Fyrskeppet wind farm will be located north of Oerskar island in Uppsala County, about 50 kilometres off the coast. The facility is expected to generate between 8 TWh and 11 TWh of green power annually, which is equivalent to 8% of Sweden’s electricity consumption. The project includes up to 187 wind turbines with a maximum height of 350 metres.
   
   "We have conducted a thorough review and assessed that the conditions for the Fyrskeppet wind farm are met,” County Governor Stefan Attefall said.
