LAMP tests are excellent high throughput, low cost and fairly accurate ways to detect Covid 19 and the UK government has made it a key part of their Moonshot program. Optigene has had success here with validating their test earlier in the year and now Novacyt will launch their own version as soon as January 2021. The surprise move will boost Novacyt’s offering into the lower accuracy, but rapid bulk testing market and uniquely, customers will not have to make a choice between kits, as the LAMP test is designed to be used in the Q16 and Q32 devices.
