Wat gebeurt er ineens? Van 2,90 naar 3,31? Het lijkt alsof iemand het aandeel manipuleerde om vervolgens goedkoop het te kopen. GS? Ik begrijp dit niet.

TAIPEI--Apple Inc. (AAPL) Chief Executive Tim Cook and China Mobile Ltd. (CHL, 0941.HK) Chairman Xi Guohua discussed cooperation at a meeting Thursday, raising hopes that the world's largest mobile carrier would soon begin offering iPhones to its millions of subscribers.
China Mobile confirmed that the meeting took place at its Beijing headquarters during Cook's visit to China, the Apple chief's second trip to the country in less than year. But it declined to disclose details of the discussions, citing a confidentiality agreement. Apple's Beijing spokeswoman couldn't immediately be reached for comment.
Gaining access to China Mobile's more than 700 million subscribers would be a major step forward in Apple's efforts to expand in China, the world's largest smartphone market. It could also provide Apple with another bulwark against relentless competition from smartphones that run on Google Inc.'s (GOOG) Android and other software operating systems.
"Apple is keen on the China market for sure as it is facing rising competition in developed markets. But the key is whether Apple and China Mobile can agree on the commercial terms including shipment commitment and handset subsidy," said CLSA analyst Elinor Leung.
Apple's China sales totaled $5.7 billion in the fiscal fourth quarter through September, roughly 16% of the company's world-wide total. Sales of the iPhone 5 topped two million units over the weekend of its launch in China last month.
China Mobile has been in talks with Apple for years to offer iPhones on its network, but has been unable to do so because it has remained tied to China's homegrown third-generation mobile technology. Its smaller rivals China Telecom Corp. (CHA, 0728.HK) and China Unicom (Hong Kong) Ltd. (CHU, 0762.HK) have been able to offer iPhones running on 3G services, though China Mobile still leads the domestic 3G market with 82.4 million subscribers.
The majority of China's mobile customers are using lower-margin 2G services, giving telecom operators a lot of room to pursue higher-margin 3G or 4G offerings.
China Mobile executives have said iPhone subscriptions will likely come only after the company introduces its fourth-generation wireless platform, which it hopes to begin operating in the second half of this year.
In the third quarter of last year, Apple was the sixth largest smartphone vendor in China with a 6.9% share, while Samsung Electronics Co (SSNHY, 005930.SE), the largest vendor, held 16.7%, followed by Lenovo Group Ltd.'s (LNVGY, 0992.HK) 14.8%, according to data from research firm Gartner.
China Unicom first started offering the iPhone in China in 2009. In November 2012, China approved the iPhone 5 for launch on China Telecom and China Unicom's networks.
