    Je merkt wel dat INTC gevoeliger is voor 'negatief' nieuws dan 'positief'.
    Het zal zijn tijd nodig hebben het vertrouwen bij beleggers terug te krijgen....

    The infusion of capital raises the question of whether or how it might lead Intel to expedite its plans to expand its domestic chip supply chain. The company is a key player in the Biden administration’s push to grow the U.S.’s domestic semiconductor supply chain, relying on Intel’s technological and production prowess to drive much of the expansion.
    The administration aims to have the country produce 20% of the world’s leading-edge logic chips by the end of the decade, a lofty goal as the U.S. currently produces none of this technology.

    De samenwerkende techbedrijven hebben een groep gevormd, de Unified Acceleration Foundation (UXF), waarmee ze dat overstappen makkelijker willen maken.

    Het consortium werkt aan een alternatief softwarepakket waarmee de code die ontwikkelaars schrijven op iedere chip en iedere machine moet werken. Uiteindelijk ook op die van Nvidia.

    "Het wordt daarmee makkelijker om over te stappen naar andere chips", legt Nasrullah uit. Bijkomend voordeel is dat het huidige tekort van dit soort chips, waardoor de prijzen door het dak gaan, wat minder urgent wordt. "Er komt meer ademruimte om überhaupt chips aan te schaffen", aldus Nasrullah. Daar hopen Google, Qualcomm, Intel, Samsung en ARM uitendelijk van te profiteren.

    Intel ligt op koers, maar vormt ban van China een serieus risico?
    Intel kondigde drie jaar geleden grootste plannen en het gaat de goede kant op. De Chinese overheid is echter minder blij met het bedrijf en doet de chipmaker in de ban.
