   There is a UN Resolution commonly known as "Uniting for Peace" resolution. It was adopted in 1950 and states that if the UN Security Council cannot reach an agreement on urgent international peace matters, then the responsibility for this is handed over to UN General Assembly (where there is no veto power).    UN Security Council is scheduled to meet on January 10th regarding Russia using missiles from North Korea in Ukraine. With Russia having veto power in the Security Council, isn't that the right time to put this resolution in action?
   
   One of the most serious consequences of the Russian aggression in Ukraine is destroying the global security system as now it is de-facto not functioning. Without firm, decisive actions, without a clear position, the world will plummet into chaos and constant wars.

   Russian military thought is traditionally linked to a holistic approach to warfare, which involves the integration of a large number of factors in the development of a strategy. This approach is materialized by the concept of “correlation of forces” (??????????? ???).
   
   Often translated as “balance of forces” or “ratio of forces,” this concept is only understood by Westerners as a quantitative quantity, limited to the military domain. In Soviet thinking, however, the correlation of forces reflected a more holistic reading of war:

   In the political sphere, the factors that come into consideration are the breadth of the social base of state authority, its organization, the constitutional procedure for relations between the government and legislative bodies, the ability to take operational decisions, and the degree and character of popular support for domestic and foreign policy.
   
   Finally, when assessing the strength of the international movement, the factors taken into consideration are its quantitative composition, its influence with the masses, its position in the political life of each country, the principles and norms of relations between its components and the degree of their cohesion.
   
   In other words, the assessment of the situation is not limited to the balance of forces on the battlefield, but takes into account all the elements that have an impact on the evolution of the conflict. Thus, for their Special Military Operation, the Russian authorities had planned to support the war effort through the economy, without moving to a “war economy” regimen. Thus, unlike in Ukraine, there was no interruption in the tax and welfare mechanisms.
   
   Nu kan elk weldenkend mens alles voor zichzelf invullen maar gezien hun eigen methode van 'correlation of forces' komt russia m.i. niet zo best uit de verf.

   A bit of good news from DeepState.
   
   Their map shows Russian forces getting completely pushed back from Novomykhailivka after trying to encircle the city the past few weeks. DeepState is usually quite conservative with their maps, so this seems a likely push back for Ukraine.

    Dat filmpje was hier overigens al eerder gedeeld.
    Gelukkig zijn er voldoende filmpjes van hoe stupide de russen soms zijn.
    Zoals een tank van een pontonbrug te water rijden, met de tankloop enkele soldaten van een andere tank vegen en zelfs achteruit een komrad overrijden.

    De Russische luchtmacht zet de trotse traditie voort van het droppen van bommen op Rusland en het bezette Oekraïne.
    
    In navolging van een Russisch dorp dat vorige week door bommen werd gedecimeerd, meldt de Russische schijnbananenrepubliek Loehansk vandaag dat een Russisch vliegtuig de door de Russen bezette stad Rubizhne heeft gebombardeerd.
    
    Uiteraard krijgen we de mededeling dat er geen slachtoffers zijn gevallen.

    Ze bedoelen natuurlijk 'belangrijke/invloedrijke' slachtoffers.
    Een boer, hoer of kinderdagverblijf is voor hun geen roebel waard, zelfs niet als ze in rusland zelf vallen.
    
    Misschien komen er nog beelden (vast wel) hiervan, dan kan een ieder zelf het aantal slachtoffers inschatten.
    
    Meestal zorgen de russen wel voor aanzienlijke burgerslachtoffers bij dit soort aanvallen.
    Het zou een wonder zijn als ze nu alleen een park en een begraafplaats hebben geraakt.

    De GUR ( Oekrainse Inlichtingen en Veiligheidsdienst ) zei dat het 100 gigabyte aan geheime Russische gegevens ter waarde van maximaal 1,5 miljard dollar heeft verkregen van het Russische bedrijf Special Technology Center dat militair materieel voor het Russische leger produceert, met name Orlan UAV's ( drones ) en een breed scala aan EW-apparatuur ( Electronic Warfare apparatuur )

    In de regio Sverdlovsk in Rusland ontplofte een explosief op de spoorrails nabij een oliedepot in Nizjni Tagil.
    
    Volgens Russische media ging er een explosief af onder de tank. In de buurt van de plaats van de explosie werd nog een explosief gevonden.
