   GM plans to phase out Apple CarPlay in EVs, with Google's help
   
   General Motors plans to phase out widely-used Apple CarPlay and Android Auto technologies that allow drivers to bypass a vehicle's infotainment systems, shifting instead to built-in infotainment systems developed with Google for future electric vehicles.
   
   Apple CarPlay and Android Auto systems allow users to mirror their smartphone screens in a vehicle's dashboard display.
   GM's decision to stop offering those systems in future electric vehicles, starting with the 2024 Chevrolet Blazer, could help the automaker capture more data on how consumers drive and charge EVs.

   Google met GM is een teken dat Google steeds meer marktaandeel krijgt en de wedstrijd van Apple en MSFT gaat winnen. Ook van TT en HERE. Overture is een noodgreep en noodzakelijk om volgens de wisdom of crowds de beste kwaliteit na te streven en om te kunnen concurreren met Google.
   
   Hopelijk tonen KIA, Stellantis en Fisker aan dat het ook anders kan, zonder Google Maps.
   
   Benieuwd trouwens of er nog gewerkt wordt aan de Apple car.

   Fisker expects European homologation approval by the authorities by 28 April 2023. Deliveries are said to “start thereafter.” According to the EV maker, the first Fisker Centres will open its doors on 11 April in Vienna and Copenhagen. More locations “across Europe and the US will follow throughout 2023.”
   
   The Fisker Ocean will launch in 13 countries this year. The carmaker will first make the EV available in the US, Canada, Austria, Germany, Norway, Denmark, Sweden, and France, followed by the UK (right-hand drive), Switzerland, Netherlands, Belgium, and India (also right-hand drive) in 2023. Additional countries, including China, are expected to follow in 2024.
   
   Production of the model started in November 2022 at the contract manufacturer Magna in Graz. At the end of April, only 54 units had already been built. But Fisker plans to manufacture 300 units in the first quarter of 2023 and 8.000 in the second quarter. In total, the carmaker wants to build 42.400 units this year – a figure the carmaker continues to stick to.

   In China wordt de traffic software van TT gebruikt, maar zal de naam TomTom niet op het scherm te zien zijn.

    Het is geen grap dat het gisteren 1 april was en dus een nieuwe maand met een nieuw TT maanddraadje nl. TT april 2023 ..
